Music - E-portfolio Sample - Term 4 2018
This term we have been learning how to play some new rhythms on our bucket drums.
We learnt to play the down beat where we play on each beat, it looks like this:
Then we learnt to play the front beat where we only play on beats 1 and 3, it looks like this:
We also learnt to play the back beat where we only play on beats 2 and 4, it looks like this:
After we had practiced the beats we learnt to play along with some songs.
What do you think is the most important thing to do so that you stay in time when you are playing on the bucket drums?
The most important thing to do so you can stay in time with the beats is to count in your head the beats and if you make a mistake then you just wait for a little bit and then try comeback in time with the beats. You can also tap your foot to get the beat in your head.
Which song do you think would be good to play the bucket drums to and why?
I think the easiest song to play would be thunder because the beats are easy and I think its a nice song to play on the drums.I also think thunder is easy because you are just doing one beat for most of the song.
What could you do to improve your bucket drumming in the future?
To improve my bucket drumming skills I could practice at home on my lap to get better and to improve staying in time with the music.I could also listen to music and try and find the beats to the music I'm listening to.
